How To Enable The SHIPAID Order Editing Widget

Give Customers Flexibility, Keep Risk In Check


SHIPAID’s Order Edit widget lets customers fix address mistakes after checkout while giving you guardrails against abuse. It is a simple way to reduce failed deliveries, support tickets, and frustration.


There are two main ways to enable it in Shopify.


Option 1: Enable Through Theme Editor

Best if you manage Online Store themes directly.

  1. In Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes
  2. Choose your theme and click Customize
  3. Use the dropdown to select “Checkout and new customer accounts”
  4. Navigate to the Thank You page or Order Status page
  5. In the left sidebar, click “Add block”
  6. Select “SHIPAID Order Edit” from the block options
  7. Configure preferences, then click Save


This gives you visual control over placement and layout.


Option 2: Enable Through Settings > Checkout

Best if your team works primarily from Shopify settings.

  1. In Shopify admin, go to Settings > Checkout
  2. Scroll to Checkout customization and click Customize
  3. Choose the Thank You or Order Status page from the dropdown
  4. Click “Add block” on the left
  5. Select “SHIPAID Order Edit”
  6. Adjust settings to match your workflow
  7. Save your changes


Both methods place the same widget. You just choose the path that fits your process.


Network-Aware Security

Order editing can be abused if it is completely open. SHIPAID uses risk signals from a large merchant network to help protect you from patterns of abuse while still allowing genuine customers to correct mistakes.


This lets you:

  • Offer edits within a safe time window
  • Reduce support tickets
  • Avoid giving bad actors a new attack surface
