Exclude SHIPAID Product From Discounts

How to Exclude the ShipAid Product From a Shopify Discount Code

Follow these steps to ensure your discount does NOT apply to the product tagged ShipAid:

1. Confirm the Product Tag

  • Go to Shopify Admin → Products
  • Open the ShipAid product
  • Make sure it already has the tag ShipAid (it should be default)
  • Save if needed

(No new tag required — we will use the existing “ShipAid” tag for exclusion.)

2. Create the Discount Code

  • Go to Shopify Admin → Discounts
  • Click Create Discount → Discount Code
  • Choose your discount type (percentage, fixed amount, etc.)

3. Apply Exclusion Logic

When setting up the discount:

  • Scroll to the “Applies to” section.
  • Choose Specific products (even if you want it applied broadly).
  • Select all products EXCEPT the ones with the tag ShipAid.

In Shopify, exclusion is done by only selecting the items/collections you want discounted, leaving the tagged product out.

If your store allows advanced conditions (Shopify Plus scripts or Functions), you can apply:

Apply discount to products that do NOT have the tag “ShipAid.”

Otherwise, the simplest method is:

✔️ Include every product or collection you want discounted

❌ Do not include the ShipAid product

4. Test the Discount

  • Go to your storefront
  • Add multiple products to cart
  • Apply the discount
  • Confirm that the discount applies to all items except the ShipAid product

Final Summary

  • Your ShipAid product is already tagged properly.
  • In Shopify, exclusions = don’t select the product/collection when defining the discount.
  • Test to confirm expected behavior.
